CLUB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM LAUNCHED

 

On Saturday February 9th 2013, The President of the Rotary Club of Brampton Flower City Centennial, Mr. Robin Singh launched the Clubs’ Scholarship Program at the Inaugural Valentines Dinner and Dance.

The program announced are for kids in the Brampton School District who will be moving on to Post Secondary Education in 2013/2014 and who will receive $1000.00 per student towards their education costs. Mr. Singh announced that five Students who meet the Club’s qualification criteria will be awarded the scholarships at the Club’s Annual Gala on July 11th 2013. He also announced that the Kissoon Family will match the club with an additional 5 scholarships for a total of 10 scholarships to be awarded for a total of $10,000.00 on July 11th 2013.

The Valentine’s Dinner and Dance was attended by over 200 Rotarians and Guests, who danced the night away to a variety of English music ranging from the 70’s,  80’s, to Indian Music, Calypso music, chutney music and a few bhangra tunes….

To start the evening dancing the Club honoured Mr. and Mrs. Chetram Singh and Mr. and Mrs. Issac Daljeet who both celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by asking them to open the dance floor.
